30 Aniversario de los - GEO - celebración en Guadalajara

El Grupo Especial de Operaciones (GEO) de la Policía Nacional ha liberado en sus 30 años de historia a un total de 444 personas secuestradas o tomadas como rehén y ha realizado 212 detenciones a narcotraficantes. Desde su nacimiento, el GEO ha desarticulado además cuarenta comandos de terroristas y numerosos grupos de delincuencia organizada, ha abordado 31 barcos en alta mar y se ha incautado de 75 toneladas de cocaína. El grupo fue creado en el año 1978 para abordar incidentes de alta peligrosidad o que requieren una especial cualificación policial. Entre las distintas operaciones encomendadas al GEO destaca la seguridad en las sedes de representaciones diplomáticas y consulares de España en el extranjero. Sus agentes han prestado servicio en las sedes diplomáticas de 31 países en distintos momentos de crisis. Los policías que integran este grupo deben superar una dura selección en la que prima el factor psicológico, junto a unas severas pruebas físicas. Posteriormente, los futuros especialistas realizan un curso de siete meses que les convierte en expertos en distintas técnicas como escalada, buceo, paracaidismo o tiro de precisión.

Google Tech Talks July 24, 2008 ABSTRACT Faculty Summit 2008 - Day 1 Geo API - Keith Golden One of the keys to the success of Google Maps is a rich API that can be used by outside developers and researchers to create interactive applications and mashups. There are over 150,000 active Maps API websites representing a broad range of applications from Earth science to social networking. The Maps API continues to grow as new features are added to Maps; recent additions to the API include support for Street View panoramas, rendering 3D models through the Earth plugin, My Maps editing, geocoding, local search, driving directions and traffic. This interactive session will discuss Google Maps as a development platform and show how powerful web applications or research prototypes can easily be built on top of Maps. A remixer uses audio mixing to compose an alternate master recording of a song, adding or subtracting elements, or simply changing the equalization, dynamics, pitch, tempo, playing time, or almost any other aspect of the various musical components. Some remixes involve substantial changes to the arrangement of a recorded work, but many are subtle, such as creating a "vocal up" version of an album cut that emphasizes the lead singer's voice. A song may be remixed to give a song that was not popular a second chance at radio and club play, or to alter a song to suit a specific music genre or radio format. Remixes should not be confused with edits, which usually involve shortening a final stereo master for marketing purposes. These typically had a duration of six to seven minutes, and often consisted of the original song with 8 or 16 bars of instruments inserted, often after the second chorus; some were as simplistic as two copies of the song stitched end to end. As the cost and availability of new technologies allowed, many of the bands who were involved in their own production (such as Depeche Mode, Erasure, and Duran Duran) experimented with more intricate versions of the extended mix. Madonna began her career writing music for dance clubs and used remixes extensively to propel her career; one of her early boyfriends was noted DJ John Jellybean Benitez, who created several memorable mixes of her work. Hip hop, rap and R&B music Remixes have become the norm in modern dance music, allowing one song the ability to appeal across many different musical genres or dancefloors. Such remixes often include "featured" artists, adding new vocalists or musicians to the original mix. The remix is also widely used in hip-hop and rap music. An R&B remix usually has the same music as the original song but has added or altered verses that are rapped or sung by the featured artists. It usually contains some if not all of the original verses of the song however, these verses may be arranged in a different order depending on how the producers decided to remix the song. Remix in literature A remix in literature is an alternative version of a writing, different from the original version. Remixing of literature and language may have started in 2000 within the book "Pixel Juice" by Jeff Noon, who later explained using different methods for this process in 2001 with "Cobralingus". Later in 2006 Nigel Tomm published his book Shakespeare's Sonnets Remixed where he introduced a literary remix in poetry. In the same year Nigel Tomm published Shakespeare's Hamlet Remixed. In 2007 Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet Remixed was published. In these books Nigel Tomm extended, broadened and developed the phenomenon of literary remix.
