Adopt us!Hello and the reason I write to you is because Keko is moving to out and he can't take us with. I'm talking about Bones and me. I'm Kote. If you don't want to read this and want to see pics and video of us, scroll down to the bottom and click on the link.I know my name is weird, then again, I have a weird Pops. It means kitty in Albanian. I'm the outgoing skinny cat that does all the talking. On the other hand, Bones, he's the big white teddy bear that likes to take long naps and just chill. Keko (our Pops) likes Bones more than me. It's ok I like Bones more too, besides, I'm Rina's cat. Bones is ultra-laid back, cool as a fan as they would say. Keko tells me he found him while jogging at the park two years ago; this white cat, big as a tiger was chilling at the park?! Bones was tame enough to let Keko carry him to his new home. He was bonny and big, so, the name Beastie Bones. Bones got neutered, vaccinated and used to have his own health insurance. Anyway, enough about Bones, I need to get adopted too. In fact, I was just adopted 5 months ago, by Keko, who neutered me last month (OUUUCH!!!). I was a wee kitty and could fit in the palm of your hand. Like all kids, I just loooooooooooove to play. Play, play, play, play, play. Bones says Keko wasn't going to keep me at first, as some of you may know, but, I am too darn playful and cute to give away. Oh... wait, If you've read this far, THANK YOU SO MUCH, you have a kind heart !!! Unlike Keko, who just cares about his daughter. I don't really mean that, she's a lot of fun and she deserves a to have her own room and be in an environment that is going to be more conducive to her development. However, pets are not allowed. Opportunity and problem are supposed to be the same word in Chinese. Speaking of Asian cultures, can you tell that mine and Bones' personalities make up the perfect Ying-Yang? Bones is telling me: "enough with the poetics and just tell the people that we desperately need a home, together or not. " Don't mind him, he's just scared, and so am I. I haven't heard to many good things about those animal shelters. Help us! Keko, Rina, Juju, Bones and I are begging you to look deep into your hearts, be compassionate and help Bones and me find a new home. We don't expect you to adopt us if you can't; maybe you're just not into cats. In that case we expect you to tell everyone you know in the LA area about us and let them decide. This is worth the clicks you are going to make to forward this request to your friends. This time it will save two lives. Think of the times you've forwarded junk mail. Really, we need you to tell everyone you know in the Los Angeles area. This is a matter of life or death. Lu Yu is a famous female Oprah-style talk show host in China. This episode focuses on the lives, love, trials and tribulations of Li Lunzuo and Ju Jiazhong. Li was born into a farming family in Chengdu, while Ju was born in Chongqing. Both of them were born about days apart in March 1956. They first met each other in Chengdu on 12 Mar 1985, at a lake near the Wenhua Laodong Gong (Cultural Labour Centre). The lake was a popular local gay hangout then. Ju made the first move by asking to borrow a lighter from Li. They found the ideal partner in each other, and have since been together for 21 years at the time the show was recorded. They had also celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary in 2006, after having gotten married a year after meeting. Their marriage was not a legal union since China does not recognise same-sex marriage. There were no witnesses to the ceremony - it was just the two of them, with "the blue sky, white clouds, green hills and emerald waters" as their witnesses (the location was a reservoir area). They made their own marriage certificate and wrote their own marriage vows on it. There were no rings exchanged, but rather, "a sincere exhange of each other's true heart". Next, they decided to start their own business as a means of livelihood. They set up a shop selling art and handicrafts. Li is more outspoken, dorminant and decisive, and is the person overall in charge of the business. Ju looks fierce, manly and authoritative with his moustache, but is actually more submissive, meticulous, soft-spoken and pays attention to details. He helps to run the business but is the main person taking care of domestic matters. In 1990, under pressure from Li's dad (who only had grand-daughters so far), they agreed to adopt the 12-year-old son of Li's distant cousin. Together, Li and Ju brought up Li Liangjun, who subsequently renamed himself Li Lei. The Chinese character of 'lei' consists of three 'shi' (rock). He feels that his adopted parents are the two large rocks below, supporting him as the third rock on top/in the middle. Li Lei calls Li 'father' (ba ba) and Ju 'uncle' (shu shu). He adopted those terms on his own, and was not taught how he should address his parents. At the time of filming, Li Lei was 28 and helps to run the family business. Li Lei is a university graduate, is heterosexual and has been dating girls since his school days. He said that when choosing a wife, the first criteria was that she must accept both his parents whole-heartedly as a same-sex couple. He found that special person, Xiao Ju, and married her in October 2006. For the tea ceremony, Li Lei insisted that both Li and Ju be on stage with his in-laws, instead of his biological parents. Ju was hesitant at first as he was worried that it may cause discomfort to the guests and problems for Li Lei and his wife in future. In the end, Li convinced him to just do it, so as to give the new couple his blessings. The reception by and reaction of the guests was surprisingly great. Presently, Li Lei and his wife live with the two of them. She follows Li Lei's form of addressing them, and is very understanding and respects them very much. Li Lei added that in his heart, Li had been performing the role of a father while Ju, that of a mother. Adopt Celia the Black German Shephard DogCelia is a beautiful solid black 9 month old female German Shepherd. She is currently in a foster home with 5 other shepherds and gets along wonderfully. Celia has been diagnosed with Juvenile Vestibular Disease and is almost completely deaf. Of course you would not know that being with her (no follow up medical treatment related to that condition is necessary). She has adapted very well, she is very smart, is attending obedience classes and learning hand commands instead of voice commands. Celia is house broken, rides quietly in a car, is very loyal and loves attention. Celia is looking for that special home where she can cuddle and love her forever someone. German Shepherd Dog Rescue of Northern Illinois, Inc. is a no-kill, non profit organization that, through education, training and fund raising, is dedicated to caring for and finding good homes for all German Shepherd Dogs that are abandoned, abused, neglected, or in need of assistance for any reason. Our purpose is to save, rehabilitate and place German Shepherd Dogs from shelters and those that have been abandoned and/or relinquished by their owners into a secure, permanent home. Our greatest need is FOSTER HOMES!! This is very crucial for our Rescue, yet it's one of the hardest goals to achieve. One of our many goals is to be able to immediately place all the dogs that come to us into adequate foster care. This way each German Shepherd Dog can have the ability to be in a home environment and learn necessary house manners, training, etc. We would like to save our kennel space (which is pretty limited) for emergencies and wish to not have any dog stay in a boarding situation for any extended period of time. There are many different kinds of foster homes: Emergency Foster Care, Safe-House Foster Care, Short-term Foster Care, Buddy Foster Care and the most important, most cherished of all, Regular/Permanent Foster Care. The Rescue will provide food, medical care and a crate -- if one is available. All foster dogs are evaluated physically and behaviorally before being placed in foster care. Our dogs come from shelters, animal control, humane societies and owners that can no longer keep their family pets. Each dog that comes into the Rescue will receive a full initial general exam including vaccinations for Rabies, DHLPP-C (Distemper), Bordetella, heartworm blood test and a fecal test. Depending on the dog's physical condition, more tests are performed and medication administered if necessary. All dogs that go through our program are spayed or neutered before being placed with a new family, as well as microchipped. The very first step in the process of adopting a rescued GSD is our Adoption Questionnaire. Once the questionnaire is filled out completely, a GSDRNI Representative will contact you to set up a home evaluation. A home evaluation MUST be done before a dog is placed in any home. If you are interested in a particular dog, we will match the answers on your application with that dogs needs to see if that dog is the right dog for you. If the match seems like a good fit, then we go on to the next step. If the dog's needs differ from what you are looking for, we explain to you why we feel that particular dog would not be the best fit in your home and help match a different dog with your lifestyle. If you are not interested in any particular dog, we choose a few that might fit in your family and let you make the final decision. If we don't have the right dog for your at the time we receive your application, we will let you know that we are looking and to have patience. Most people are understandable and want to wait for the right dog; they trust we will find them a family member that will fit into their lifestyle. Once a dog is chosen, a visit to your home with the dog is then scheduled. This is to ensure that the dog will accept your other family members (2 and 4 legged). This is just a brief initial visit. After the dog visits your home, a date and time is then set for you to sign the Adoption Contract and get any and all information about your new companion. We do provide you with a copy of the dogs medical records, as well as a copy of the signed contract.
