With a population of just 2 million it is one of Europe's smallest nations covering an area of less than 21,000 square km's. Bordered by Austria, Italy, Hungary, Croatia and the Adriatic sea, Slovenia contains a diverse countryside with mountains, vineyards, lakes and it's own stretch of Adriatic coastline. Over half the country is forested making it one of Europe's greenest nations.

Cities, locations and adventures presented in this video: PORTOROŽ (PORTOROSE) - beautiful marine town on peninsula with hotels, beaches and camps IZOLA - marine town with camps and small hotels, you can hire boats PIRAN - the oldest marine town in Slovenia with church on hill, looking to sea (beautiful view) KOPER - it has one of the biggest harbours in middle Europe; old buildings and streets with modern style RIVER SOČA - most beautiful river in Slovenia and Europe because of its green colour and beautiful valley RAFTING ON RIVER SOČA - attractive adventure with boat on river; you can go self exploring small lakes, waterfalls and green pools KOBARID - town in the valley of river Soča; beautiful mountains on left and right side of the river POSTOJNA CAVE - one of the biggest caves in Europe, you are driving with train in the cave, see the "human fish", stalactites and stalagmites LIPICA - it has one of the first stud farms in Europe, Lipica has purebred white horses (and also others) and they are known all over the world LAKE BLED - Slovenia has only 2 Alp lakes and lake Bled is one of them, you can drive on the lake with boat called "pletnja" or you can hire your own boat, swimm in summer and skate on ice in winter BLED ISLAND - this is natural island on lake Bled; on the island is a church with a bell called "the bell of wishes"; they say if you ring the bell, your wish might come true BLED CASTLE - the castle was built on the "live" rock, rising just above the lake LAKE BOHINJ - one of the second Alp lakes in Slovenia, this lake is the longest; you can swimm in summer, stay in hotels and camps PLANICA - it has one of the longest ski jumps on the world (250m), every year it has ski jumps for world cup KRANJSKA GORA - it is near Planica, Kranjska Gora has beautiful mountains and valley and one of the biggest ski centers, you can stay in hotels, Kranjska Gora in english means "The mountain of Kranj" POHORJE - every year it hosts the women competition called "The Golden Fox", also one of the biggest ski center; it lies near Maribor TRIGLAV - is the highest mountain in Slovenia (2864m), evry year more thousand people visit Triglav ALJAŽ TOVER ON TRIGLAV - this tover is on the highest point on Triglav, it is the real symbol of Slovenian nationality TOLMIN - it lies in the valley of river Soča, beautiful views on mountains and greeen surroundings TOLMIN CHURCH - it is one of the oldest churches in Slovenia built in ancient design IDRIJA - it lies in the valley of river "Idrijca", it has hills on left and right side VOLČJI POTOK - this is the biggest park in Slovenia, it has huge numbers of different trees from all over the world, in spring and summer it has beautiful flowers (tulipans...)
